Writing this at 1 am because of course I am Gen Z

Born in 2001, I am officially a Gen Z kid which basically means I have the emotional stability of a Instagram reel and the philosophical depth of a Pinterest quote. Maybe paired with an aesthetic Spotify Mixtape.

Let’s get one thing straight: We are the most indecisive generation in human history. One day we’re ready to die on an argument defending ourselves over nothing and the next day we’re minimalists living off self-doubt. We commit to something passionately and then become best friends with procrastination.

Do you know what was the biggest pain in our ass?

Mobile phones in every single hand!!!!

We didn’t grow up sending emails or writing letters but rather judging adults who use Facebook as boomers. We are the type of people who cancel dinner plans but go to war if someone leave us on delivered.

We crave love, connections, friendships and soul mates. To be honest all of it at once. Then we realise that we are emotionally unavailable to want all of it . We act cold with the people who care and over share to strangers.

Emotional depth seems to be like something missing in the puzzle of life. Instagram captions pretending to be poetry. Tweets that are life advice. Podcasts that proceed to ruin your week. How are we supposed to find meaning when everything feels like a joke?

The attachment-detachment game is top notch. Either we’re falling in love after one Hey or we’re detaching like a rocket and calling it “self-care.”

We’re aware of everything. Too aware. We know about generational trauma,capitalism,

Political beliefs , AI and what not but all that awareness just makes us tired. We know a little bit about a lot, which is cool until you realize you’re having a dilemma over whether you actually believe in something or if you’re just being a victim of mass hysteria.

To every fellow Gen Z out there who’s ever been called lazy, sensitive, chaotic, or a walking red flag I see you. We are kind of messed up but in the most beautiful way. Maybe it’s a curse. Maybe it’s a superpower. Maybe it’s just lack of caffeine . If there’s one thing we know how to do it’s turning a total mental breakdown into an amazing personality ( trust me it ain’t easy)

This blog isn’t to make a point but to just tell people out there that don’t think we are the spoilt generation! We didn’t have a choice either

It’s okay if you are Gen Z. We are a beautiful mess and let’s not run away from it
